Terms of Service

The short version

Zavvy is a free app that helps you compare what a basket of groceries would cost across UK & Ireland supermarkets. Prices are indicative and can be out of date — they're a guide, not an offer to sell, and the price at the till always wins. Use the app lawfully, keep your submissions honest, and don't try to break or abuse the service. The full agreement is below.

1. Who we are & accepting these terms

Zavvy ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by MonkeyLittle. These Terms of Service govern your use of the Zavvy mobile app and related services. By creating an account or using Zavvy you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Zavvy. By using the app you confirm that you are.

3. What Zavvy does

Zavvy lets you scan grocery receipts and product barcodes and shows how a basket's total compares across supermarkets in the UK and Ireland, with a tally of your savings. It also lets you save money-off coupons to present at the till and, if you choose, give them away to or claim them from other users (see "Coupons" below). Zavvy is an information service only: we are not a retailer, we don't sell groceries, and we don't process purchases or payments for any supermarket. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any supermarket.

4. Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider (Amazon Cognito), including via Google or Apple. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us at feedback@zavvyapp.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

5. Acceptable use

When using Zavvy you agree not to:

• use the app for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms;
• submit false, misleading, or abusive content — including deliberately inaccurate prices;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
• disrupt, overload, probe, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems;
• use automated means to access the service except as we expressly permit.

6. Content you submit

Zavvy relies in part on prices and product details that users record. When you submit a price, suggest product details (a name, brand or size), report a scan, or send feedback, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you grant MonkeyLittle a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, store, reproduce, and adapt that content to operate and improve the service — including combining it into anonymised, aggregated price data, and merging suggested product details into Zavvy's shared product catalogue once corroborated by another user; such data may be retained and shared even after your account is closed. You remain responsible for the content you submit. The same applies to a coupon you give away: by sharing it you confirm you're entitled to pass it on, and you make its details (including the barcode/number) available to other users to claim.

7. Prices & accuracy

Prices shown in Zavvy come from a mix of crowd-sourced user submissions and publicly available information, and they change frequently. We make reasonable efforts to keep them useful but do not warrant that any price is current, accurate, or complete. Comparisons are provided for general information only and are not an offer, quotation, or guarantee of price or availability. Many own-brand and store-specific items can't be matched across supermarkets, so a comparison may be partial. Always check the actual price in store before you buy — the supermarket's till price governs.

8. Supermarket names & trademarks

Supermarket and product names, logos, and trademarks shown in Zavvy belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the relevant retailer or product. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.

9. Our intellectual property

Zavvy — its name, branding, design, and software — is owned by MonkeyLittle and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose; they don't transfer any of our rights to you.

10. Availability & changes to the service

Zavvy is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and the service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zavvy is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MonkeyLittle will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your reliance on price comparisons or other information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

13. Suspension & termination

You can stop using Zavvy at any time and delete your account from the app's Settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users. On deletion, your account data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy; anonymised price data may be retained.

14. Coupons

Zavvy lets you save money-off coupons and, optionally, give them away to or claim them from other users through a shared pool. Coupon details (value, conditions, validity dates and the barcode/number) are read by on-device scanning and may be misread — check them against the original coupon before relying on them.

Coupons are issued by retailers, not by Zavvy. They are typically single-use, time-limited, and remain subject to the issuing retailer's own terms, including any restriction on transfer. You are responsible for using a coupon in line with those terms, and should only give away a coupon you are entitled to pass on.

Coupons shared between users are provided "as is" and at your own risk. A coupon you claim may already have been used, may have expired, or may be refused at the till, and we cannot verify or guarantee that any coupon is valid, unused, or will be accepted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MonkeyLittle is not liable for a coupon that does not work, for any coupon shared by another user, or for any dispute between users about a shared coupon.

To keep sharing fair, claiming is subject to a give-and-take limit (you can claim a limited amount of coupon value beyond what you've given away before you need to share one back). We may set, change, or enforce such limits, and remove coupons or restrict accounts, to prevent abuse of the pool.

15. Privacy & usage analytics

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it — including that scanning runs on your device and that payment details printed on receipts are removed before anything is stored or sent.

The app uses Google Analytics (Firebase) to collect anonymous usage data (screens viewed, in-app actions, and basic device/app information) so we can understand how Zavvy is used and improve it. This never includes your receipt contents, the prices you record, or your email. By using Zavvy you agree to this analytics collection as described in the Privacy Policy; you can ask us to stop using your usage data for analytics at any time by emailing feedback@zavvyapp.com.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll revise the date above and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Zavvy after a change means you accept the updated terms.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer-law rights of your country of residence.
